The huge increase in storage capacity allowed for both digital sound effects and speech files, making it Sierra's first talkie adventure game. Prior SCI games had to embed digital samples (only 8-bit mono) in a [[Sound Resource (SCI)|SOUND]] resource. The size was limited to just 65536 bytes, total. There were lots of issues. What is the shipping product, on diskettes or on CD? The voiced version was still being recorded and either you ship a demo without voices or ship the demo late. One KQV programmer told me he bought a new jeep for cash with his KQV overtime. I think Sierra decided to cut the demo than risk the diskette version missing black Friday.
