Information

The PC version supported AdLib, Adlib Gold, Roland MT-32, Sound Blaster, General MIDI and CDA Tracks.

Composer Notes

We launched [Betrayal at Krondor] on floppies only, but when everyone was getting excited about the CD-ROM platform, the potential was seen to take full advantage of the CD, thus new arrangements of the music. CD-ROM, by the way, is what also really helped us get in front of people. There were lots of folks with a shiny new CD-ROM drive, but not very many games designed to exploit it, so Sierra was smart to take advantage of that gap. I am not sure, but I THINK we might have been the first RPG to ship on CD-ROM. Don't quote me on that though.
