Gabriel Knight 1

• Gabriel Knight 1 Update (GKPAT10B) (floppy version) (ZIP file) [371 KB]

This diskette or archive file contains the necessary files to update your copy of Gabriel Knight to version 1.0b. This update corrects several problems described below. Check your installation disks to verify which version you have. This patch also patches version 1.0a to 1.0b.

• Gabriel Knight 1 Update (GKCDPAT) (CD-ROM version) (ZIP file) [590 KB]

This patch fixes Lockups and save/restore game problems. You cannot use saved games generated before installing the patch.

• Gabriel Knight 1 Gravis UltraSound Drivers (GUS32)   (ZIP file) [273 KB]

For both floppy and CD versions. These Gravis Ultrasound Drivers will work with some Sierra 32 bit games. These drivers will not work on earlier Sierra games.

• Gabriel Knight 1 Patch (GK1_NRS)   (ZIP file) [25.4 KB]

For the floppy version. This non-Sierra update is one of NewRisingSun's script level timer bugs patches. This patch was unfortunately removed from NewRisingSun's site after Hendroz came out with his new Windows installer. Use this for the DOS version. Fixes:

• Day 5: Lockup
• Day 6: Sergeant returning too early. You now have 30 seconds.
• African Snake Mound: Mummies "float" instead of walk if you leave the room too quickly.

Note: Before installing this patch, make sure you update to the latest version of the game, first, by installing the Sierra patch (<a href="#GKPAT10B">GKPAT10B above]]).

• Gabriel Knight 1 CD Patch (GK1CD_NRS)   (ZIP file) [25.4 KB]

For the CD version. This non-Sierra update is one of NewRisingSun's script level timer bugs patches. This patch was unfortunately removed from NewRisingSun's site after Hendroz came out with his new Windows installer. Use this for the DOS version. Fixes:

This patch addresses chapter 4 memory problems. It also addresses the error 99 gotten when changing CDs and the chapter 6 Lockup when taking the holy water.

• Gabriel Knight 2 No Interlace Patch (v2)   (ZIP file) [7.34 KB]

A third party patch, by Enrico Rolfi (Endroz)] to remove the interlacing of the video sequences in Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within. See before: and after examples. For more information, see the included Read Me file.

Extra patches found in Enrico Rolfi's (Endroz) GK2 installer above, that are not found in the official Sierra GK2 patch above.

• Gabriel Knight 2 Patch (GK2CD2DVDPatch)   (ZIP file) [3.53 KB]

Required files for complete installation to hard drive. Included with the GK2 SHP DOSBox installer and the Gabriel Knight 2000 (Endroz) GK2 installer. Intended for manual full hard drive installation. Can be used to repair a broken full hardrive installation where there is no music on game start and only displays the "RESTORE" and "QUIT" buttons. This patch will restore the "PROLOGUE" and "PLAY" buttons and the music.

• Gabriel Knight II English Subtitle Patch   (EXE file) [1.20 MB]

The Gabriel Knight II English Subtitle Patchadds English subtitles to The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery. Nonnative English speakers or those with hearing impediments may find this patch useful.

Gabriel Knight 3

• Gabriel Knight 3 Renamer Batch File (GK3_BAT)   (ZIP file) [178 bytes]

This batch file will automatically rename the file mpeg2dmx.ax located in your windows\system32 folder to mp3g2dmx.old and rename it back when done playing. Unzip into your GK3 folder. Use it every time to start GK3.
