Games that falsely claim MT-32 compatibility
The following games claim to be MT-32 compatible but in fact are not. The most common case is that they allow MT-32 or compatible devices to be chosen as configuration options, but they play General MIDI music instead:
- Breach 3: plays on channels other than 2-10 with inappropriate instruments and missing notes, music and digital sound effects output through same device
- Callahan's Crosstime Saloon: plays on channels other than 2-10 with inappropriate instruments and missing notes
- Edward Grabowski's The Blue & the Grey: plays on channels other than 2-10 with missing notes
- The Even More! Incredible Machine: plays on channels other than 2-10 (requires a fan patch to run properly)
- Fast Attack High Tech Submarine Warfare: plays on channels other than 2-10, MT-32 driver is bugged/nonfunctional
- Front Lines: sends General MIDI data
- High Seas Trader: plays on channels other than 2-10 with inappropriate instruments and missing notes, music and digital sound effects output through same device
- The Incredible Machine: plays on channels other than 2-10, GM driver is silent with wrong pitch bend (both drivers require a fan patch to run properly)
- The Incredible Machine 2: plays on channels other than 2-10 (requires a fan patch to run properly)
- Metaltech: Battledrome: plays on channels other than 2-10 with inappropriate instruments and missing notes
- Metaltech: EarthSiege: MT-32 driver is bugged/nonfunctional

- ↑ Incompatible with MT-32 (Old), producing buffer overflows and causing broken sound or firmware lock-ups. See talk page for a DOSBox workaround.
- ↑ Exploits software bugs of MT-32 (Old) modules' firmware; will on some occasions sound wrong on later-generation modules.
