Description

Hero's Quest is the first in Lori and Corey Cole's Quest for Glory Series. A copyright dispute forced Sierra to rename the game. It is an adventure/RPG hybrid genre game. Like D&D the player chooses a class at the beginning, which determines what puzzles and scenarios he will encounter, though classes can have skills for other classes. Stats are developed through experience.

Sierra was forced to re-release the game with a new title (Quest for Glory I: So You Want to Be a Hero) on Sept 06, 1990 due to a legal dispute over the copyrighted name HeroQuest [2] (Milton Bradley's HeroQuest Board Game). Though both were released in 1998, Sierra never copyrighted the name, while Milton Bradley did.

Synopsis

The valley of Spielburg is in trouble. The Baron's daughter has gone missing, as has his son. A nasty witch named Baba Yaga has placed the entire valley under a curse! And now goblins and worse roam the valley at will.

It falls to YOU, brave but unknown hero, to step in and save the day. Can you do it? Will the evil be slain? Do you have a spare pair of underpants in your backpack?

With three classes to choose from - warrior, mage or thief - plus all the ability points to assign at will, you can create the hero you always wished to be. Best of all, each class offers different ways to solve the game.

So grab your dashing cloak and prepare to do battle. Do YOU want to be a Hero?
