Although he wrote other titles, the Warren Schwader game that causes Apple II fanatics to froth at the mouth is "Threshold," a frantic shooter in the "Galaxian" vein. What it lacked in originality it more than made up for in spirit and sheer technical mastery of the Apple II hardware. And while that "technical mastery" phrase brings several other names to mind, especially that of [[Bill Budge]], Warren hung on longer than just about anyone, learning new tricks to push the Apple II farther than anyone thought possible.
The first programmer hired on at Sierra (then On-Line Systems), he was one of several employees whose stories were told in the book Hackers. He stayed with Sierra until 1993.
