About the Creators of CLOAK
- Mark Engelberg (Game Designer) formerly worked as a Virtual Reality designer for Johnson Space Center, where he created a number of virtual environments noted for the high degree of artificial intelligence and interactivity they exhibited. He has spoken at VR conferences about these environments and the techniques used to create them, and received an award from NASA for his role in the Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission. He has also served as a creative consultant for companies including Telepresence Research and Electric Eggplant Entertainment.
- Bruce Sharp (Art Director) is a Seattle-based illustrator whose clients over the past ten years include The Washington Post, The Atlantic Monthly, The Miami Herald, Omni magazine, Disney, Psychology Today, Random House, Henry Holt & Co, Simon & Schuster, The Seattle Times, The Seattle Opera, Microsoft, and numerous private commissions. He has received awards from the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts magazine, and Print magazine. In 1995, he was commissioned to paint Governor Booth Gardener for the Hall of Governors in Washington state's capitol dome. He has been featured in The Artist's Magazine (twice) and in The Design Journal of Korea (an international commercial arts magazine).
Mark and Bruce were among the first game developers hired by Sierra On-Line's Northwest division in Bellevue, Washington, where they met while working on Torin's Passage. They started discussing their common interest in science fiction, and CLOAK was born.

The CLOAK team is comprised of many of Sierra On-Line's most seasoned game developers, making it one of the most experienced game development teams in the industry. Together, their expertise spans the hottest new game technologies, including the integration of live-action video into rich 3D environments created and rendered in programs such as Alias, Softimage, and Lightwave.
- Mark Aro (Artist) graduated from Duncan Polytechnic with a graphics and printing certificate of achievement. He has also studied privately in Southern California with an emphasis on photo realism illustration, in Nashville, Tennessee with an emphasis on technical illustration and in Syracuse, New York with an emphasis on old-world stippling. He has also won numerous awards in California, Tennessee, Kentucky and New York. In addition to traditional illustration, Mark has created 3D images for television commercials as well as various printed publications. He joined the Sierra team on Lighthouse and is currently working on Cloak.
- Robin Bradley (Quality Assurance Lead) has been assuring quality in Sierra products for nine years, since the days of three-person development teams (a programmer, an artist, and a QA specialist). Since then, he has worked on many games including Manhunter S.F., Larry 3 and 5, King's Quest 5 and 6, Phantasmagoria, and now Cloak. He has also led quality assurance in all Amiga, Mac, and Atari conversions for several years. If you're looking for a challenging puzzle, try to find his clev erly-concealed name in King's Quest 5.
- Robin Braze-Phanco (Artist) graduated from California State University Fresno with a B.A. in Graphic Design. She freelanced until joining Sierra in '94, and then in her two years spent with Sierra worked on Phantasmagoria and PQ5: S.W.A.T. which featured live video capture. Robin also assisted on Lighthouse for a short time.
- Chris Carr (Programmer) is an experienced bit-wrangler and lady's man who has been with Sierra for nearly seven years. Before joining the Sierra team and exploring his interests in object-oriented programming and algorithm design, Chris worked as a tow truck driver. Of his many projects, Chris has worked on Phantasmagoria, The Beast Within, Jill, and Danielle. He looks forward to a victorious completion of the Cloak project with his righteous coding comrades, as well as probing the depths of his latest lady friend's psyche. When not acting as Fresno's unofficial plenipotentiary to the lower planes of Hell (treaty negotiations are going well), Chris is fond of playing jazz and rock guitar, dabbling in good and bad mojo, tuning up his most recent fusion chamber magnetic "beer bottle" general-purpose, user-friendly energy source ("you'd be amazed at how handy a plain old-fashioned rubber mallet is on these projects"), and pulling altogether far too many wheelies than necessary on his motorcycle.
- Jason Hayes (Musician/Composer) comes from an eclectic background, from the operatic show he composed for "Pacino's" in Orlando, Florida, to studio production and jingle writing, to pop music performances on national tour and Club MTV. This rather odd assortment of skills makes him a good fit for our diverse team of creative professionals on project Cloak.
- Keith Landes (Art Technician) is relatively new to Sierra but has had the opportunity to work on projects like Gabriel Knight 2, The Realm, and Lighthouse.
- Randy Littlejohn (Sound Design and Video Capture) has been involved with film and video production since 1973 - his first college film class. After six years of producing and directing commercials, Randy joined Sierra R&D. He has shared his talents as Lighting Cameraman on Phantasmagoria, as Director of Photography on Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within and as Co-sound Designer on Lighthouse, and like everybody at Sierra, has worn many other hats as well.
- Dana Moody (Artist) has a background in art that stems from childhood, when she learned many artistic talents from her mother who had her own design business in San Francisco. She has been a part of Sierra's staff for eight years, and has produced art and led the post-production for a wide spectrum of games, including Phantasmagoria, Gabriel Knight, Police Quest, King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Leisure Suit Larry, Laura Bow, and most recently Lighthouse. Dana also assisted in the design of Sierra's proprietary art tools, and has taught these tools to many generations of Sierra artists.
- Doug Oldfield (Lead Programmer) has been at Sierra for fifteen years, and worked on many games which are now considered classics, including several games in the King's Quest and Space Quest series. Most recently, he was a programmer on Lighthouse, Gabriel Knight 2, and lead programmer on Phantasmagoria.
- Brian O'Neil (Creative Consultant), in addition to his roles as an entertainment consultant, has served as a webmaster, as a systems engineer, as a mechanical engineer, and has designed and built robotic equipment for research applications. In his free time, Brian has designed large-scale real-life interactive treasure hunts.
- Dan Peters (Artist/Animator) was trained in classical "hand drawn" animation, and has since become an accomplished 3D modeler and animator on Lightwave 3D 5.0. In his two years at Sierra, he has worked on many prototypes of advanced games.
- Greg Poulos (Lead Animator) graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a B.F.A. majoring in computer animation and traditional animation. While at the Art Institute he was a student instructor in both computer animation and digital sound. He has just recently joined Sierra, and Cloak is the first project he has had the opportunity to work on.
- Brandee Prugh (Artist) has been working for Sierra for three years and currently specializes in creating 3D art using Alias. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Art from West Chester University. Brandee worked on 3D backgrounds in Phantasmagoria, modeled and animated the werewolves in Gabriel Knight 2 and worked on Lighthouse.
- Ken Prugh (Producer) graduated from Temple University in '88 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He began working at Sierra in the spring of '94 as the 2-D art and video post-production coordinator of Phantasmagoria, and on Gabriel Knight II he organized the post-production video lab.
- William R. Shockley William R. Shockley (Programmer) has been working at Sierra On-Line for over six years. His previous games include Freddy Pharkas, Space Quest 6, Gabriel Knight 2, and Lighthouse.
- Donald Waller (Artist) has been working in Sierra's art department for about five years. He has created 2D and 3D art and animation for over a dozen Sierra titles including: Ecoquest, Laura Bow, Space Quest, Hoyle, Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, King's Quest, Phantasmagoria, and Lighthouse.
