Casio CSM-1 FM Tonebank Sound Module
Introduction
PixelatedArcade [1] wrote:
The Casio CSM-1 is an external MIDI sound module released by Casio in 1989. Although designed as a sound generator for MIDI keyboards, a handful of games supported the module for music and sound effects. The synthesis in the CSM-1 features 12-bit PCM samples and is multi-timbral allowing up to four different timbres at one time with a 12 note polyphony. Built in are 100 preset tones (including acoustic and electronic instrument sounds, sound effects, and 49 percussion instruments) and 20 auto-rhythms.
