MPEG container

There are the following formats:

• MPEG-1: MPEG-1 Program Stream
• MPEG-2: MPEG-2 Program Stream (PS); MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS)
• MPEG-4: MPEG-4 Container (MP4); ISO/IEC 14496-15 AVC file format (both based on the ISO Base Media File Format (ISO/IEC 15444-12 and ISO/IEC 14496-12)

The following are not container formats but modified or extended versions that are sometimes called MPEG containers:

• Video Objects (VOB)
• PVA
